About the Role:

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be trusted to provide leadership, management, and accountability for a portfolio of federal contracts focused on one of the following service areas: IT Automation and Optimization, Data Analysis and Data Science, Program Optimization and Strategic Communications, or Grants Management. We anticipate that you will have ~5 project managers across ~5 contracts with ~50 employees in total reporting to you. Responsibilities span: Business Development for the service area, contract and subcontract oversight; client relationship building; partner relationship management; process improvement; quality assurance; and team management. 

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide oversight and management to the engagements and project teams across a contract portfolio focused on IT Automation and Optimization, Data Analysis and Data Science, Program Optimization and Strategic Communications, or Grants Management
  • Manage and build client, partner, and stakeholder relationships
  • Lead the quality assurance approach for the portfolio and conduct quality reviews of high profile deliverables 
  • Ensure all processes for delivery and project plan timelines are on track 
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to delivery teams across contracts on deliverable scoping, requirements gathering, quality assurance, and overall execution focused on project management, grants management, strategic communications, program evaluation, and data analytics
  • Work with project management teams to maintain and enhance teammate cohesion and to ensure client satisfaction
  • Provide career development coaching for team members
  • Portfolio planning and contract management including resource planning, financial and utilization target planning/monitoring 
  • Collaborate with domain account managers, project managers, People and Operations Teams, and the Growth and Partnerships/BD Team
  • Identify and secure net new and organic growth opportunities

Location:

You will work as part of a hybrid team within the metro-accessible DMV area.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of professional experience
  • Business Development experience, with an emphasis on new business capture
  • Experience leading/managing engagements with $15m+ revenue per year and multiple large teams
  • Working at a strategic level and collaborating with C-Suite and employees at all levels
  • Building and managing client, partner, and stakeholder relationships
  • Working with or for the Federal government
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Managing and coaching people, including career planning, providing feedback, and performance reviews
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a clearance

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Program or Project Management Professional (PgMP or PMP)
  • Program Management on a GWAC, BPA, or IDIQ

Salary:

Approximate Salary Estimate: 175,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually
