We are currently seeking a Director of Growth Operations. The Director will lead the execution of our growth and business development strategy and manage the initiation, momentum and completion of all growth initiatives to help us continue to expand. Our current portfolio of projects is focused on civilian sector technology research and development (R&D), program management, program evaluation, digital transformation, data analytics, AI governance, and grants management. We are looking to add an experienced leader with more than 10 years of relevant experience to join our Washington, DC based team, add to our culture, and fully embrace our commitments to deliver, grow and thrive.

About the Role:
The Director of Growth Operations will serve as the key operator of our growth engine—driving disciplined execution; enforcing prioritization, rigor and follow through across the pipeline; and ensuring we are investing in and pursuing the right opportunities to achieve sustainable growth. This role is responsible for translating growth strategy into action to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across pipeline management, capture, teaming, and proposals. You will run the growth system—driving focus, discipline, and accountability across the firm to improve win rates and scale effectively. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Growth System Leadership & Execution
  • Own and operate the firm’s end-to-end growth system, ensuring alignment between strategy, pipeline, and execution
  • Translate growth priorities into clear actions and resourced account and opportunity plans that move forward to win new contracts
  • Establish and lead a rigorous operating cadence including pipeline reviews, capture reviews, and proposal readiness checkpoints
  • Drive accountability and collaborate across practice areas and growth staff for execution against priorities
  • Lead unified messaging updates for all marketing materials, conference approach, and communications
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators to determine return on investment (ROI) of growth initiative investments
  • Support ongoing AI and digital transformation service offering initiatives related to business development

Pipeline & Capture Management
  • Own the quality, health, and direction of the pipeline
  • Lead and manage the corporate capture system, process and team to include leading qualification standards and prioritization frameworks that focus on high P-Win and high value opportunities translating to new contracts
  • Lead and manage the Capture Team and coordinate with account leads to drive progress and increase P-WIN throughout the capture process for all corporate opportunities across Divisions
  • Drive win strategy development, competitive positioning, and shaping activities
  • Ensure early engagement and coordination across account leads, delivery teams, and partners
  • Monitor and improve capture effectiveness and conversion rates

Proposal System Leadership
  • Lead and manage proposal development system, process, and team
  • Coordinate with the Proposal Manager and Consulting Division to proactively develop strategic positioning to inform highly rated and compliant submissions.
  • Advise, support, and participate in all elements of proposal development (i.e. solution development, technical writing, color team reviews) to ensure submission of compelling and compliant proposals with an optimal win probability and high score value
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation to support enhanced proposal efficiency, quality and scoring outcomes

Partnership and Relationship Building
  • Refine strategic partnership strategy and drive execution of building focused partnerships aligned to capture and contracting planning
  • Lead coordination of relationship building efforts with relevant government leaders and contracting officials in priority Federal agencies and offices

Contract Vehicle Management
  • Identify and shepherd strategic contract vehicle opportunities,  Joint Venture development, and Mentor-Protege relationships through the full life-cycle
  • Oversee and lead the development of proposal packages for strategic contract vehicles that support strategic direction and growth opportunities
  • Develop metrics to track ROI of strategic contract vehicle performance
  • Coordinate with the finance department to monitor return on strategy investments

Growth System Data and Tools
  • Establish and enforce CRM discipline, pipeline hygiene, and data integrity
  • Implement and maintain dashboards and reporting (with technical support from teammates) to provide visibility into pipeline and performance
  • Use data to drive decision-making, forecasting, and performance management
  • Identify and implement tools, automation, and AI capabilities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Institutionalize repeatable processes, playbooks, and lessons learned

Required Experience /Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of related experience in Federal Contracting
  • Experience growing a civilian sector Federal contracting practice
  • Proven business development leadership, capture, teaming, and proposal management experience
  • Possess a deep understanding of the Federal Business Development Lifecycle and FAR/DFAR
  • Work in a highly collaborative/team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with GovWin
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under stress with tight schedule deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple capture opportunities and proposals at the same time
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a business development team.

Salary:
Approximate Salary Estimate: 175,000.00 - $190,000.00 annually
